In which case are we allowed to create a SAP Test-User in a productive environment and where can we find information about all SAP user classifications?
The creation of a SAP Test-User (ID 91) in a productive environment is granted only in one of the following exceptional cases:
- there is no test system available
- the Test-User is only used to prepare not productively used modules for a later use in a productive environment
The classification of a Test-User needs to be coordinated with SAP.
Source (classification of SAP users): https://support.sap.com/ja/keys-systems-installations/measurement/information/user-classification.html (retrieved 2016-11-14, to access the website you need a valid S-User)
Additionally, you will find information about SAP user classification in the following documents:
- metric definition (part of the price and condition list of the respective year of purchase)
- contracts, consolidation contract, special agreements
- written communication with SAP
Further information on SAP user types:
The definition of user types, as shown in the link above, must always be checked by agreeing the current contracts. This applies in particular to company-specific users that are not included in the price list (PKL) or in the case of contract consolidations. In any case, the general conditions of the purchase period apply unless otherwise agreed (purchase 2002 –> PKL, GTC etc. from 2002 apply). In exceptional cases, users/metrics may not be defined. In these cases, generally valid definitions are used, such as “users who work with it”. These are then evaluated by SAP as administrators. In such cases, an individual legal review is required or recommended.
