How to calculate the license need for Oracle Database 11g (and higher) based on Oracle Processor metric?

Go to manufacturer overview

For Oracle Database Standard Edition, each socket needs to be covered by a license, independently of the number of CPUs. That is different for the Enterprise Edition. Here, the following formular applies:

Number of CPUs x Number of Cores per CPU x Oracle Core Factor

The result must be rounded up to the next integer. The Core-Factor depends on the CPU model and, if necessary, on the date of purchase (only Intel Itanium 93xx). The current version of the Oracle Core Factor Table can be downloaded here (please be aware of updates).
