Compared to the former Standard Edition, which are the major changes to the new Oracle Database Standard Edition Two?
Comparing both editions, Oracle Database Standard Edition Two provides the following new features:
- Use only on servers with max. 2 sockets (previously 4 sockets)
- RAC is also limited to a total of 2 sockets/network
- Limitation to 16 CPU threads e.g. 8 threads/servers in the RAC network (previously unlimited)
- Minimum licensing of 10 NUP/Server (previously 5 NUP/enterprise)
